Does anyone know if its possible to order objects front to back in a detail component family? I am trying to add an opaque filled region to a few families so when place them in a drafting view I don't have to mask extra line work from the model. The problem is that everything seems to look ok in the family but when placed in a drafting view the opaque fill is on top of everything else so its hiding linework within the family as well as the extra pieces from the model. Any ideas??
    Thanks

    Unfortunatly not.
What you need to do is place filled regions next to each other and rely upon the linework in the filled regions.

Attached is a modified dimensional lumber detail componets where the filled regions sit next to each other to create masking elements. The linework from the original Revit file isn't needed, but I was to lazy to recreate the information without it.

Ok the lumber family works well but what about a situation like the attached image where you would want the red line gone?

Is the red line part of the detail or from the model to be masked?

Don't forget that you can make some of the edges in the region fills hidden....

sorry about that, the red line is part of the model, the rest is the family. I noticed you are using multiple solid white regions. I hadn't thought of this but so far it looks like it will take care of the problem. I'll let ya know when I get it all done. Thanks

Its works great now. And even better than that, I have a much better understanding of how filled regions behave in relation to the available settings. I can think of about a dozen small quirk I can fix now. Thanks again!
