    Default Annotation Label Orientation?

I was creating some electrical symbols this weekend and realized something strange. The generic "Outlet-Communications" Family has a label in it that remains either vertical or readable from the titleblock edge regardless of where it is placed. This is in contrast to the "Outlet-GFI" Family that has a label that orientates with the symbol. i.e. if the symbol is upside down so is the text.

I can't seem to reproduce the Outlet-Communications setup. Why would two similar families work so differently out of the box?

I assume you want to make the GFI family function so the GFI label is always readable, right? Have you opened the family and checked on that label? There should be a checkbox that says Keep Readable somewhere in the label's properties.

I checked...all labels (TV or GFI) are already checked "keep readable".

They are checked in both annotation families. As far as I can tell all settings are the same for both files!

I don't know how to link to it. However, the thread titled "READABLE TEXT" has your answer.

You need to go to "Family Categories and Parameters," then "Generic Annotation," then check "Keep Text Readable."

The other "keep readable" is apparently a ruse to force you to use AUGI. If so, it worked!
