Filled Region Visibility in Detail Components

Is there a way to control the order of filled regions in a detail component family? Specifically I want to "send them to back" so all linework will show in front. I'm working on a curtainwall detail family with nested detail components on top of a solid white filled region. It appears correctly in the family itself but when I load it into a project the filled region jumps in front of the linework and I can't see any of it. Potential glitch or user error?
