Default Nest a storefront in a window family?

I neede a window, in the sense that it punches a hole in a wall somewhere between floor and ceiling and only happens in a limited number of sizes, but it is made up of store front components. I don't really want to actually use Storefront directly, as we might need to change the window. What I think I want is a nested family, in which my storefront system is nested in a window family.
Am I on the right track, or is there a better way to proceed?

    Thanks,
    Gordon

IMHO, you might be better off taking an existing fixed pane window and revise the frame to match whatever storefront trim you'd like to use.

Or, you could also place a length of curtain wall in a wall, adjust it's top & bottom height parameters to match your sill & head, use the cut geometry tool to cut it into the wall, and then add the mullons on the edges.

I'd go with a window style that looks like storefront as well, unless the way it is scheduled is critical.

    As to the second technique:
Make a new curtain wall style. Set it to auto-embed to avoid the need to use cut geometry. Then just copy it around where ever you need it. I think you could also group it so that copies would update should you decide to change a mullion later. (Haven't had a change to try that ...)
