I would like Revit to keep walls I’ve hidden in a 3d view to remain hidden when I plot.

I have generated an axonometric view of my project (Revit 6.1), showing all
elements. Wanting to create a cut-away view, (not by having a clip plane as this would generate strange cuts on walls etc ) I used the 'VIEW' drop-down menu,
selecting Hide/Isolate and then picking the various walls, floors etc I
wanted to temporary hide. On the sheet this looked exactly as I wanted it,
but the plot brought back all the items I'd hidden!

Also, can we please have an easy way to hide a whole floor / level and everything above, or a section line and hide everything forward of the section line, in the 3D view, and keep them hidden when plotted?

with worksets you could do the first thing you want. It's a clunky work-around tho.

with section boxes you can do the second right now. But that's only with shaded views.

It's taken me a bit of time to get the solution, but my Revit tutor told me the solution today.

Looking at my axonometric, get into the View Properties dialogue box. Near the bottom, there is a parameter 'Section Box', check the tick box. Then in the axonometric view you have a box around your model. Each of the 6 blue dots control the 'cutting plane' which will slice through the model. ( I found this would only show a result if the model was 'SD' shaded)

To make the section box invisible, uncheck the Crop region Visible.
