Unhappy Importing PDF files into autocad

I need to import a PDF file into my autocad drawing and make some modification to it. After i make the modifications, i would like to save it back in a pdf file. I am currently using autodesk map 2006 and i also have raster design 2006. Can someone direct me in accomplishing my goal.

    Thank You

Imho, this is the ‘only’ way I know that works fine. If someone knows a better way, I also would like to know.
To import: Drag the pdf into AutoCAD
To export: Plot to pdf (Install a pdf-plotter if you don’t have one)
Problem: You can import the file but to modify it, that’s not possible. The pdf is imported as a raster image. You can mark the changes and save it back to a pdf with you’re mark-ups.

Mmm, I just tried it here and I got the info.
I know the pdf is created for at least version 6.0 and it has just one page. If there are more pages in the pdf, it won't work.
    Oh, I imported a pdf in AutoCAD r2006 & AutoCAD r2006 ADT

If you have map installed you could try to import the image in that way. I dont know know if it works with a pdf file or not. But bringing the image in through the map software allows you to bring in images based on a coordinate system, also too you can bring the image in in inches or feet, and also asign a scale to the image prior to inserting it into CAD. I hope that this helps.

I have been done this very often.

Yes, it is possible to import PDF file into AutoCad for editing.

    With two conditions:
    1. the PDF file was converted from Vector format (NOT BITMAP format)
    2. Having CorelDraw installed.

    The steps:
    1. Use CorelDraw to import the PDF drawing then explodes it
    (CorelDraw called UNGROUP)
    2. From CorelDraw, export it to DXF or AutoCad (dwg).
    3. Use AutoCad to open that exported file with extension: dwg or dxf.

    That's it.
    Good luck!

Indeed, when you have CD. But then you can also say that you need Acrobat Proffessional. Then you do it wit AP.

I usually open cad make the change and replot with pdf writer to make a new pdf. I did bring a pdf into cad, but it was like a file. If you clicked on it, it open Acrobat Reader 5.0. no help to me. We usually send pdf's to the client so they can't be changed.

PDF's are easily converted to vector drawings as noted by the many methods available in my post. Scanning to PDF is a little more secure, about the same as sending a paper drawing.
