    Default views not regenerating

why is when i make a change to some layer states within my view drawing it does not update in my sheet that is set up for that view. for example i have a level plan and a unit plan in constructs. then i make a view of these constructs to put on my sheets. the sheets are already created and i need to change or turn off a layer within the unit view. the view of this unit on my sheet does not update to the changes that i have made in the view drawing. for example sheet is made and i need to turn off furniture in the view drawing and save/close. then i open up the sheet and the view that is on this sheet does not have those changes that i just made. any suggestions?

Layer states set in xrefs only go one level deep. in other words, if you have nested xrefs, visretain wont be able to control those changes & thats why you have to duplicate them in the sheet.

As Steve has mentioned (and showed me the light in my post http://forums.augi.com/showthread.ph...ight=visretain), it is best to have VISRETAIN=1.
