Default Link Fields to Oracle database

I have fields in Property set definitions that i need to link to an Oracle database. It appears that i can not make a direct link to Oracle. I can import the table view into an Access database then make my link but the data is not live. Does anyone know how i can link to the Oracle database whether through Access, SQL etc so the data would be live.

    Thanks

I've got an e-mail out to a person that may be able to help. I just can't remember if Oracle was one of the programs he worked or not.

    Update
Well he suggested that SQL was the answer, but that's not the end of the program he worked on.

If you have any AEC products installed, there is the AECDatabase field.

Its an acad field. It is an additional type supplied by one of the aec arx's. It allows you to define an sql connection to a db to grab a value from a field in a db table.
