    Default Concrete Stairs and Floors

Why can't you join the geometry of a concrete stair with a concrete slab so the whole assembly looks monolithic.

Several times I did ask for that but unsuccessful, at the moment as far as I can see we can't (unless v9.0 does...)

If you are talking about having the stair connect to the floor as though it were poured at the same time, and, therefore doesn't show the connection lines try using the line tool set to invisible lines and pick those that meet the floor.

But then you have to do this in every view including 3D.
Is there a way of creating a floor based family using arrays and stair calculation formulae to create the tread elements of a concrete monolithic stair. You probably would have to join geometry for each tread/riser unit to avoid seeing the join lines underneath which would really confuse if you could see the underside of the stair in say a section view.

    Modernc
Yes ... you can create an In Place stair Rfa and join geometry if material and category (floor) are set the same.

Actually ... just because the stair modeling tool is an Rfa where geometry is created exterior the project it can't join with geometry on project level ... like any other non In Place Rfa.
So any attempt other than creating an In Place Rfa will fail.

what? Revit 2012 is has been out 5 months, and no it's still not possible.

Use filled regions or linework if it's that big of a deal. Obviously it's not ideal and yes I've wished for the same, but in the end our projects still get built correctly.

Can I have some reassurance from the factory that stairs and balustrades will work before my suibscription is due?
If you didn't notice have a look at the date I posted this originally.
And this would not have been the first time!
