    Default Mutifamily Project Question

I want to know if there is a better way to do this project than the way I'm putting it together now. Project Program: 3 Building Types, 2 & 3-story apartments. Each building steps 2' at certain points in the slab. Building Type 1 steps once, Building Type 2 steps 3 times & Building Type 3 steps 4 times I have the buildings in one file with lower & upper levels. I have all the walls set to the levels. I have all the unit types grouped. After I finalize the elevations, I plan on making 3 files and linking each building type back to a main file. I work alone, so I don't need worksets. (I think) I have not linked files before. My question is: if i updated a group, will it filter down to the linked files? Any opinion would be appreciated. Thanks.

You make changes to the linked files in order for the master plan to change not the other way around.

This type of work seems pretty similar to the old xref process. Build each building in its own file and link them in to the site plan. You probably will have them all shown in the site plan by building type, and then each building will be given its own set of plans, elevations, etc. in the main file so that the drawing set is coordinated. I use crop regions to isolate the individual parts.
I'm not sure what the building steps have to do with the process...

    Good luck
