Angry FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 7c826bd5h

    Hi folks.

Has anyone else had this fatal error with ADT2006??: FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 7c826bd5h
I have been unable to pinpoint a culprit to the cause...except....it has only occurred with workstations with Softdesk 8 with R14 still installed.

    Thanks!

    Hi Marv

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

Are you still using the old version? If not, you might want to uninstall it. Have you uninstalled the old version after installing the new one? You may need to run a repair on your newer version. Have you made any changes to your computer recently that might have brought on this error? Sometimes uninstalling or installing other programs can affect Autodesk products. Repairing or reinstalling your software can help this at times.

I didn't find much on it out on the web. The one I found was on the adsk disscussion groups & it doesn't help much:

Cool Re: FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 7c826bd5h

It appears that this is caused by a virus.

    Thanks

    Hi Marv,

What prompted you to blame this on a virus?

Exclamation Re: FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 7c826bd5h

    Hi Richard,

Got an email from Autodesk stating that these errors are caused by the w32.pinfi virus.
I found it on the "bad boy workstations" and removed the regostry key, ran scans, etc and all appears to be fixed.
