Default New Workstation advice - Revit, AutoCAD, some rendering, Illustrator and Photoshop

    Dear all,
This is always an issue... what's next?
I am facing the question of which should be the Workstation I get next. I've been looking at HP xw 8200 with Xeon 3.8, IBM's and Dell's which I understand come out soon with a new Precision 690 soon.

I need to do Revit, Autocad, some rendering and Illustrator and Photoshop on it.
Usually, yes... all at the same time

    Any recommendations?

    Best,

    Bernardo

I like XI Computers (www.xicomputer.com) or Sys computers (www.sys.com) also Polywell makes a nice machine (www.polywell.com)...XI and Polywell use both Intel and AMD processors (depending on preference)...If you are going to go with a Xeon, try to see if you can get a 2.4 or 2.8 Ghz Opteron for your workstation...The Opteron is 64 bit as well...Plus you can get a Dual Core Opteron as well...Make sure that your video card is a FireGL or a Quadro...Stay away from GeForce and ATI X-series...Gaming cards do not take advantages of OpenGL...
