The Line Weight parameter is for the thickness of the leader line. You'll have to use the BOLD option to change the text weight.

So from now on, when any autocad detail needs to be imported into a dummy project an fully exploded, change the text style then cut and past into the actual project.

Is it possible to script this some how?

It would be nice if there was a tool to change the text of selected imported details to a certain text style.
