    Default Reference Plane - Delete

I give up! I give up! I give up!!!
Ok, I'm sure I'm doing this completely wrong, but I'm trying to self teach myself Family Creation and Editing. I'm taking the Fixed window family and editing it to create a more "generic" look.

I have most of it working. However, there is this "not a reference" reference plane at the bottom of the Exterior/Interior Elevation views that I can't delete. Neither can I delete the Dimension line to it

I've removed the Default Sill Height Label as we usually place windows based on a Head Height. I've added that as a label and flexed the style. Everything seems to work except I can't delete this friggin reference plane.

    All help is welcome!

    Reid,
I removed the reference plane and the dimension attached. You did nothing wrong it was marked not deletable which can only be changed with the internal developers tools. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    AHA!
    I was losing my mind!
Ok. New problem. In the interim (interrum?) I started over with the generic Window.rfa file. I thought this would be easier and it appears to be, but now I'm stuck at how to create a "hole" or opening in the wall. I've created the glazing and frame as solid extrusions, but they are being obscured by the wall element.

    See attached.

Your file already has the opening in it, but the extrusion for the glass does not have the material assigned to it so it looks like the default wall material. Just assign the material to the extrusion and it should look correct. Hope this helps...
