Default Really having Problems with this family!

I have created a louver family from scratch so that it would do everything I want it to do:

Adjust louver numbers via height, adjust width, adjust depth in wall etc.

I can not however figure out why my louvers stair step back when I insert the family into a project!?!?!?! It does not do it in the family editor and I really can not figure this one out!!!! Can some one please help me on this. (Also realize that the louver also has a depth parameter that may effect this) Thanks in advanced!

(When looking at the project to see the stair step look at the section created.)

Ahh, you've discovered the magic of Arrays in Families!

I struggled with that a lot when I first started using Arrays, too.
The best thing I could figure out is to make sure that when you create your array, you use an Array Count of 2, and make sure you're locking to a Reference Plane, not to Geometry. Then Dimension between the two Reference planes & set that Dimension to use your parameter.

    Thanks a ton!

I Realized that I was attached to a geometry and simply made a new ref plane and like magic it now works perfectly.

Another thing that willmake your arrays alot easier to handle is to use nested families. This way you array an item that already has predefined parameters.
