Default Tough visiblity / shading question

I would like to be able to hatch walls that land on a floor while shading walls below with a different hatch. I created the attached files with Revit but had to use filled regions to get the shading to work. I have been messing with the materials trying to get the walls above when cut to show the hatch pattern while the walls below would get a different hatch pattern. They are the same wall type. Basically what I am trying to do indicate graphically the structural walls above and below a floor. The structural walls above a floor would get one type of hatch while the structural walls below a floor would get different hatch pattern. The non-structural walls would be drawn with out any hatch. What can I do to accomplish this with out having to draw hatches by hand.

    tough one indeed.
The closest I could get is by setting the view depth of the view range to -500 then in
Settings... line styles set the properties of the 'beyond' line style, but no luck with the hatch.

    Sorry!

I have not played with filters enough, but could you use a filter to select walls above/below a level?

Filters is what I was going to suggest also - you cannot get it to offer up the base level in the criteria, but you could add information to the comments field that could then be used as selction criteria for the filters. Having done that you can hatch them in any way you wish.

I was trying to accomplish this with the visibility settings only. I don't think filters will accomplish what I want as I want to show everything. I don't need to hide anything but simply need to show the walls above as hatched and the walls below shaded. I can't seam to figure out how to shade walls below. I was wondering if overlaying sheets would be a way to accomplish this task. Does any one here have experience overlaying sheets? Do you think this would work in my case? Thanks again for your help.

    Wesley,
I can get filters to show different line type, weight and pattern but no hatching.
    Am I doing something wrong?

I am also having issues with the solid hatch hiding posts and other elements I place in the wall. Have any of you had this issue? Thanks for the reply's by the way. I still haven't found a solution for this "wall above vs below" problem.
