Question How to use Tables in AutoCAD 2006

We use excel and a 3rd party to insert schedules. We don't have enough licenses for everyone to do the inserting with the 3rd party program. Panel schedules, long equipment lists and some lengthy word documents
I'd like to be able to use the table for the replacement of doing our schedules in excel and word documents..
    Thank you

    Hi

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

Hi, Thanx for moving my post to the correct location.
The table is a completly new animal to me ~ ~
Can a filled in schedule be made, saved and inserted into a dwg. ~ then can this same schedule be inserted into a different job be revised and not affect the schedule in the first job?
I don't want to use excel to make schedules.

A TABLE entity is just that --- a different entity type. You can create Table Styles (like textstyles or dimstyles) for apperance, but the TABLE itself is an AutoCAD entity. You create it and populate it inside of AutoCAD.

Yes, there is no table linking.

Is the tables in 2006 really worth it right now and/or any better in '07??? If there's a problem with getting the correct text, not getting different cell sizes, etc.
