Default Anyone running AutoCAD on 64-bit Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron platforms

any folks out there running AutoCAD on 64-bit Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron platforms ? i know AutoCAD hasn't been tested on these, but i'm sure someone out there has tried. if so, any bottlenecks to look out for ? any performance gains versus the 32-bit platforms ?

I have an Opteron 146...The best thing about the newer 64 bit processors is that they will work with 32 bit applicaitons...I do not see any bogdown at all...Then again, I do not see the hugh difference between the Athlon 2.0 Ghz and the Opteron 2Ghz...The L2 cache is larger with the Opteron, so you will get some performance with that, but none that I see...Maybe this is because of my motherboard...

***REMEMBER - when picking a processor the motherboard is just as important...Do not settle for a cheap motherboard...

If you are going to go with AMD, try to get the AM2 socket...It can handle DDR2 RAM now, unlike the 939/940...The bad thing is that the Opteron is not available (yet) in the AM2 socket, so the Athlon would be the best choice...IMHO...
