    Thumbs down Walls and Columns

See the attached image for details.
When a column is placed, it doesn't cut the wall. So now when I make a schedule for the walls, I get wrong results, since in reality the wall doesn't go through the column.
Join geometry doesn't work. What must I do?

I just tried to duplicate what you are doing. I am assuming you are using a concrete "structural" column and not an architectural column. When I place the structual column it does not cut the wall geometry (as expected) and then I use join geometry and all is well.

    Try again.

    You can't join structural geometry.

Here is a generic wall with two structural concrete columns, one joined and one unjoined
