Lightbulb Display a proper civil scale for a viewport

It is possible to format the Object field for a viewport's scale to display the way civil firms like to see the scales, e.g. 1"=20'

However, it means you need to change the format of the field expression. Here is the process. I have also attached an image of the field's required format.

    • Display the Field dialog (likely from MText or EAttEdit).
    • Select Objects category, Object name.
    • Select the PViewport.
    • Select the Custom scale property.
    • Highlight and copy the expression listed at the bottom of the dialog to your text editor.
    • Change the format string to match: 1\"=%lu2%ct1%qf28161'
    • Copy the modified string to the clipboard.
    • Cancel the Field dialog.
    • Paste the clipboard into the current MText/EAttEdit/(whatever) dialog.

I hope you find this post useful.

Exclamation Re: Display a proper civil scale for a viewport

HELP i have been searching the forums for a way to format the viewport scale field so it reads 1000 times the amount, eg 1:200 -> 1:200000.
This is of use for civil firms since the model space units are in meters and not mm, thus a 1 to 200 scale shows up as 1:0.2.
Is there any way to add another option to the CT, at the moment it only has 1/x, x*12, x/12 and x/12*12.
Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated

    Hi

Have you tried this thread "Customization of Fields - It is Possible!"?

More importantly the document that Jenna kindly attached to the thread.

    Have a good one, Mike
