    Question Metal Cornice

I am trying to create a metal parapet cap in profiles. When I do a sweep, I get an error. Has anyone run into this problem?

    Question Re: Metal Cornice

OK, I found my mistake. A profile must have closed lines. Now I can not get the wall sweep to follow a curved parapet. Any ideas?

Try using " Pick Path" in a 3D view.

    Cool Re: Metal Cornice

I've tried: modelling, host sweep, wall sweep, but it won't work on a curved or sloped parapet. Are you saying I must create a in place wall sweep?

Host sweep -wall sweep should work. Place the default profile first then swap it out.

If you having problems, can you post an image or mini file ?

I think the logic runs that these elements are essentially created in-place, as I imagine you have edited the profile or used a void cut, so the automatic tools won't work and yes, you'll need to do some smarter modelling.

It should only be a case of defining a profile family and loading it (so that it can be reused) then selecting the path by picking in a 3D view.

Substituting another profile for the default profile used by the Host Sweep tool.
