    Default rebar detail components

Can someone tell me why I can't change the length of the "Straight" bar detail component? I place the bar in my drafting view, then (after some time) I can get the length of the stright bar section of the bar to be the length I want. They I want to apply the 135 hook to one end. Well I can get the bar to be the correct lenght, but the hook always stays in the same spot. I can't draw a bar with say a 6" stright section and 135 hook on each end. Anyone else even playing with the things yet?
    Thanks in advance.

    David,

Change your Dimensions Parameters to be 6" for the start and the end rebar extensions. This will make the straight portion (the part inbetween where the curves start) to be 6". If you want the entire length (from outer quad to outer quad) to be 6" you'd be out of luck (at least with that particular component) since 10" is the smallest number you can have without the lines starting to overlap. I'll look into the detail component to see if there's anything curious about it, but it seems to work fine. You can highlight the bar and then adjust the grip arrows to get it to stretch also.

    Are you experiencing something different?

    Rick, Thanks for the info.
I'm tring to get an rebar detail component to stretch to the dims I need. When I inserted it, I just strated stretchthing the thing via grips and I kept getting the constraints warning.

That warning might have to do with the label. It appears to need to remain between the outer grips. If you try to move one or the other grip beyond the other you get an error.
