The distance command now returns the model space distance!! What's up with that!! If I wanted the model space distance I would switch to model space. Am I crazy or is this different than it was in '06??

It only does it if you are snapping to objects that are in modelspace, and only if the start/end points are both displayed within the same viewport. With osnaps off, you get the paper distance.
I would have to say I like it better this way.
What would be the point of getting a distance if you don't actually snap to the object?
Precisely. Why don't we just draw everything in modelspace and throw paperspace out the window? Would probably save CAD users more time by not switching from paper to model, As I think that's the reason this thing has been changed to this. Just doesn't make any sense!Originally Posted by chuck_cantieny
I think it was a dumb Idea if you ask me.
Edit: But wait, paperspace has to be there cuz if it is taken out that would be like using Revit.
Uhmmm....

Is there any way to disable this or are we stuck with it?
