    Default changing connector type

is there anyway to change the system type of a family connector (e.g from other to sanitary) and then reload it without losing any pipe connections within the model?

it is unfortunate that some of our families for plumbing have waste and water connectors which are set to other and thus the fixture units flow config is unavailable.

    any ideas or workarounds?

    thanks in advance

You can edit the family and modify the connector by selecting it, right-clicking and changing the system type from the Element Properties dialog box. However, I haven't tested it, but I was assume the connection would be broken somewhere after re-loading the family simply because everything previously connected to it has a system type of 'other' whereas the re-loaded family would have a system type of 'sanitary' (or whatever you change it to). It's worth a shot!

You can edit the connector to be a different system type, no problem. The issue I have had is when I reload them and overwrite the existing I've had problems getting the new system to work correctly. It's no problem if I save the family with a new name and load it into the project. I haven't done this in a while though, the issues I had were in Revit 2008 and Systems 2.
