    Default Generic Annotations

I'm having a problem with a generic annotation family we commonly use. I've attached a pdf that shows what I mean. In the picture, on top I have our generic annotation, and on bottom I have basic text. With the text, the leader has a gap before the actual leader starts. Then you place the bend in the leader wherever you want, and the end of the leader wherever you want. The number on top is a generic annotation and the leader does not look the same as the leader on the text. The leader goes almost all the way to the edge of the letter and doesn't leave nearly enough of a gap. How do I fix this so that the leader starts at the same place in both the generic annotation AND the text?

I attached the annotation family along with the PDF. Thanks in advance for the help!
