Red face Page Layout Changes with Plotter Selection

We have a problem that is evident on multiple machines when it comes to plotting by layout.

For example, we will set up a layout using a PDF-XChange printer for say, 30x42 printing. Then if we change to our XES510 for another method of 30x42 printing, the page layout shifts and cuts the border off.

    Any ideas

    TIA

Do both PC3 files have the same margins?

I have seen this when switching printers/plotters as well, particularly when switching between "soft" printers like PDF generators and "hard" physical plotters. It also happens when switching between plotters of different models.

The nearest I have been able to determine is that this happens when the plotters/drivers use different origins for paper location. I have one plotter whose origin is in the center of the page as opposed to the L,L corner, others are more subtle, but the problem still remains.

This is not a new issue either. I have seen this type of problem all the way back to the implementation of "PaperSpace" but have always gotten the response from Autodesk that it is a hardware issue.

Unfortunately I have not found a solution for this. I would be interested to hear how others deal with this particular situation.

    Great Post!

Wouldn't a page setup for each be a solution?

We used to experience this quite a lot, and the the only work around we have found that seems to work is to set the page setups for the various plotters by using Window... As all out title blocks are standard for the various page sizes, and ensuring they are brought in at the right insertion point, then the plots work fine...
