    Arrow Electrical Symbols

We are creating Electrical Fixtures. These fixtures are 2D and must be visible only in the views that they are placed in.
Assuming that i'm making copies of the floor plan to do different electrical layouts of the same floor level, i need Data&Voice fixtures in one view and Raw Power fixtures to be visible in another.
But even on using Symbolic Lines in the Family for these fixtures, i'm able to see the fixtures in all the views that are duplicated from this floor plan. Can there be a way, where we can restrict the fixture to some views only?

Open up a new Electrical Family Template and make what you want for 2d symbols. Save them in a seperate Electrical Folder so you know that they are only 2d. Load them in your project and then you can hide them from the VG Overides. These also do not show up on your 3d Views, just the plan you put them in.

Make sure you have object styles in each component. The data and voice component should have a data and voice object style, likewise the power should have its power object style and the symbolic lines you draw should be using the respective style.

Then those styles will show up as subcats under Electrical Fixtures in the project.

Use View Templates to keep your visibility settings consistent for each plan type.

This file contains many of the usual residential electrical symbols (I believe for 1/4" scale) as well as a legend for the sheet.

    UK Electric Symbols

    I find I need a variety of scaled symbols mainly 1:100 & 1:50
The symbols in the library are drawn 1:50 (1/4")

Is there an easy way of getting the symbols to automatically select to the appropriate scale of the drawing ie scale to 1:100 (1/8") ???

    Cheers

If you're trying to use my library, go into the families of each symbol and use the resize feature on the top toolbar. These can only be changed in the family - that I know of.
