    Default Replacing Text

I have a project where I label all new work "PROP." I now need to change them to read as "NEW." Is there a way to change all at once or do I need to change them all individually?

What you could is create an annotation family that will say NEW. Place it at all the places that you have put PROP. In future you will be able to update your project by changing the annotation family to say something like COMPLETE. At the moment Revit's in plcae text works an individual text so you would have to change each one through out the project, if you want it to be able to change all over the project in future you need to create a annotation family.
