    Default Vertical Alignment Editor

Our company just switched to LDT 2007 from 2005 and when going into the vertical alignment editor, we get a fatal error. Does anybody else have this problem?

I seem to be posting here alot, as of lately...

If I'm bothering anybody I apologize in advance.

2007 has had it's share of problems.....

I don't know if this is a known problem that was fixed in SP1, but have you applied SP1?

It couldn't hurt (well, on second thought, I suppose it could.....). Maybe check out the readme file.

Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1

Note that LDT2007 Companion requires a different SP

I have already installed SP1, and I still crash...very frustrating.

Also, a co-worker brought to my attention another issue where a fatal error occurs when creating a 3-D Polyline and trying to pick elevations from a DTM.

We waited until SP1 came out so we could minimize issues like this. But I'm beginning to regret upgrading at all.

Things like this are one of the reasons we are still on LDT2006

Don't worry about bothering anybody with problems. That's the whole purpose of AUGI. ... errr ... the solving of problems that is, not the bothering of people with them.

What is the error message that you get? Does it happen every time you use the vertical alignment editor or just every once in a while?

I don't have the same problem, but like RKMcswain said, LDT 2007 has its problems, and everyone has their own issues with it.

Maybe we can find a way to fix it if you can give any more information about what else is going on when you start the command.

    Thanks for everyones input.

We ended up just reinstalling the Civil portion of LDT. That seemed to fix the problem. I think parts of the installation were corrupted because we were installing on multiple workstations at once.

The program instability, huge setup time on the front end for Styles, and Parts Builder are all reasons we are considering switching to Microstation. Which means after 17+ years I will have to learn a new graphics program. but I love a challenge.

    Hi Fred,
Just remember, with MS, everything is left handed and backwards from ACAD (out of the box)
