    Default Dashed Lines in Xref move when plotted

    another problem is a dashed linetype in a reference file. when i leader to it it looks fine in the drawing. but when i do a preview and plot the dashes move. so what was leadered to the center of the dash is now at the end. i have never seen this before the one solution is to bind the reference and i really do not want to do that.

    Question Re: Dashed Lines in Xref move when plotted

    Hi

    Are the same Linetypes being used in the drawing file and the Xref file - Check system variable Measurement.

    What is PSLTScale set to ?

    Is it possible to post the drawing file and Xref file in question, so we can look at the issue / problem first-hand...

    Have a good one, Mike

    here you go mike, i zoomed into the location. note the leaders pointing to the dashed lines, than do a plot preview the dashes will move. i drew a line using the same linetype in modelspace (the white one) and this does not move?! i'm feeling it has to do with the refrence but have run out of ideas... thanks for taking the time to look at this Mike.

    Hi

    Is there meant to be an attachment with the above post ?

    If yes, could you please try again.

    If no, could you please post the drawing file and Xref file in question, so we can look at the issue / problem first-hand...

    Hi

    No worries...

    Ok! I will take a further look at the issue / problem tomorrow ( Is now 01:25 AM here, I need to catch a few ZZZ's ).

    Just so I know I am looking at the correct area...

    * Open drawing file 12913-Wet Permits22.dwg

    * Looking at Layer BE-WETLAND-NONTIDAL-BUFFER-25 ( Linetype - Dashed 3 ) belonging to Xref file 12913-XCOND.dwg

    * Leader and MText ( contents NON-TIDAL WETLAND BUFFER ) on Layer TEXT.

    Have I got the above correct ?

    Have a good one, Mike

    Hi

    I almost forgot about this thread. Sorry.

    I have not yet! found a satisfactory answer / solution

    So far...

    * Dashed Linetype ( Dashed3 ) moves / shifts in Plot Preview when Object is a Polyline and uses a Custom Dashed Linetype.

    * If Object type Polyline uses a Standard Dashed Linetype ( Dashed / Dashed2 / Hidden / etc ), it does not exhibit the move / shift problem..

    * Object type Line is not affected, regardless of Dashed Linetype used ( Standard or Custom ).

    * Using a Custom Dashed Linetype associated with a Polyline Object, I have had mixed results when playing about with PLineType ( set to 0 ) and_or ViewTwist.

    The issue / problem appears ( to me anyway ) to be related to Polylines that use Custom Dashed Linetypes.

    PLineType ( set to 0 ) and_or ViewTwist might also have something to do with it, but like I said above, so far I have experienced mixed results when playing about with those options.

    If I have more time, I will take a further look.

    Have a good one, Mike
