Default Identify "Origin" Ref Planes in Color

When creating families, two ref planes always define the origin point of the family, which the user can set. The problem is, the only way to tell what is the origin is to select a ref plane, go to properties, and check the check box to see if its set to "Defines Origin".

My idea is that the origin ref planes should be identified differently, graphically. either the color is changed from the standard "ref plane green" to another color, or the linetype is different or fatter, or...something! Something to tell me these ref planes are "special".

I was just thinkin the same thing yesterday with the addition of having different colors for major/minor/no reference....could be confusing for newbies though, maybe a toggle like thin lines to turn the ref plane color on/off....*shrug*

I'll take any designation of ref planes I can get. I would prefer to just have Ref Plane Object sub-categories, with "origin" as a default sub-category.

    Great Idea Scott!

Thumbs up Re: Identify "Origin" Ref Planes in Color

I think having a different color for the origin ref. planes is a great idea too. I think it would also be nice if the flip control and the insertion point for a family did not both have to be defined by this same pair of reference planes. Sometimes this can be restricting.
