Thumbs up Duplicate sheets & views on multiple sheets

We seriously need to be able to duplicate sheets and have the ability to place the same view on mulitple sheets.

I can't believe views have been restricted to being able to be place on one sheet only.

You can duplicate a view in it's entirety and place it on a sheet. Isn't that what you're looking for?

There are times when you want the exact same view info on more than one sheet.

For example, I am working on a proposal that has two different internal layouts. I have two different sheets that have different views on them depending on the design option, no probs there. But I want to put a site locality plan on each sheet. Now because it was the interior that was different my site locality plan will be the same for each option.

I shouldn't have to duplicate a view. This now creates duplicate data that has to be updated in more than one view. This is not only time consuming, but can now cause inconsistencies if things are missed when updating the two views.

...just never update view 2 in this case. Always do your detailing on the primary view. Then when changes are made - delete the old duplicated view from the sheet. Duplicate the updated primary view with detailing and place that back on the sheet. Total elapsed time: 30 seconds (with a coffee break).

I agree this would be very useful, and I'm not sure why it isn't already an option. Sometimes we create 'sketch sheets' to send to the field for clarification, etc., and it would be extremely useful to do this stuff on the fly.
By the way, duplicating w/ detailing DOES NOT duplicate everything. I've noticed Edited Cut Profiles do not carry over, among other things. This can cause real problems if you don't catch everything that must be re-detailed on the copied version.

I would still really like to see this for the same reason of being able to add a locality plan view to multiple sheets.

What my office would like is for sheets to be related to phases. Views could be duplicated on sheets that were not in the same phase.

We are trying to manage multiple tenant projects in one building model. One of the big problems we have is that each sheet needs to have a unique number. I want my floor plan to always be sheet A201. If drawing sheets were related to phases, each phase (project, design scheme, whatever) could have a sheet A201. Taking this one step further, each sheet A201 in each phase could have the location plan. Views and callouts would always be referenced to sheets in the same phase.

Sketch sheets, supplemental instructions, addenda, etc. could all be handled this way.
