    Exclamation phantom autocad

i am having a problem with loading autocad we have just reformatted my machine with 2000pro and then loaded 2004 ADT. now when ADT first opens it is fine how ever it is missing pull downs menus (ie, tools, documentation, design) i loaded the acad.mnu and the next time i go to restart autocad it does not open proper it starts to load and then blanks out to the desktop. how ever my tool bars that are not docked show on the desk top when veiwing the task manager it shows that the aplication is not there but the process is there. So i hit the F2 key and the command window came up and i typed a regen all and auto cad came up like there were no problems however i have to do this now every time i restart. Does any one know why this occured or how i can fix it? This is the most bizzare thing i have seen autocad do!!!!!

This would suggest that certain registry entries are wonk.
Run your install/repair option and see if Windows and
AutoCAD can't agree on where it is and how to run it.

Ok, try installing latest video drivers, update windows.
If this fails you may have to go brute force on it.
Run REGEDIT and delete/remove every instance to
all things AutoCAD, AutoDESK, and ADT.
Use extreme caution when editing your registry,
note there are several hundred entries for a typical installation of
    AutoCAD.
