Semantic errors in DCL files

Issue:
I get a error message when opening a Cad drawing in 2004. The solution for Autodesk 2005 is good to know, but I am not sure if it applies to 2004. I had problems with my computer last week and when it was repaired the problem started.

I receive the following errors when starting AutoCad

autocad message "base.dcl" can't find file <OK>

semantic errors in dcl file acadmap.dcl see file acad.dce for details<OK>

semantic errors in dcl file ade.dcl see file acad.dce for details<OK>

I can follow the steps listed in # 2 below but the lddt.arg file open in notepad does not resemble the sequence below.

Solution for Autodesk 2005

The default Lddt.arg and the default Map.arg files reference the Windows user profile that was used for installation. When a different user account (with power user rights) logs on to the machine, by default this account will not have access to the original paths listed in the ARG files.

If you have not run Land Desktop 2005 as a Power User, simply modify the "ACAD" path in the Lddt.arg file. Follow these steps:

1. If you have not yet run Land Desktop 2005, in Notepad, open c:\Program Files\Land Desktop 2005\lddt.arg file and find the line beginning with the text "ACAD"=".

2. Modify the following portion of this path as shown, replacing "C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\" with "%USERPROFILE%".

ORIGINAL TEXT: "ACAD"="C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\..."

CORRECTED TEXT: "ACAD"="%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\..."

3. Repeat for C:\Program Files\Land Desktop 2005\Map.arg.

If you have already run Land Desktop 2005, you will need to follow the steps above, then delete the "Land Desktop" profile

I'm sorry, but, just to clarify are you using AutoCAD 2004? or Land Desktop?
