Is there a way in C3D 2007 to have the contents of a text label go vertically and horizontally? For our municipal standards, vertical curves need to have their length and M values labelled like a dimension, but to also have the station and elevation listed at the top of the profile. See the attached image for a visual reference.

Yes, by adding more text components to you label you can anchor them to different locations and with different rotations.


The item being label provides several anchor points for attaching label components and once components are attached, they themselves provide anchor points for attaching other components as well. In some cases you may even have a component in a label, with its display to false, just to provide a needed anchor. The rotation of a component is often based on the item its anchored to. (ie. text anchored to a vertical line, with a 0 rotation, will be vertical, or it can be vertical on it's own by having a rotation of 90)


It's really quite a flexible system of labelling. My personal vertical curve label has about 20 or so components and works on all my curves. (high pt, low pt , and transition) See attached pic.
