not as i know of - but when you open the drawing - go to drawing properties - there you can find out the creation date...
Hi
Does the following thread offer anything helpful / useful...
Identifying DWG version last saved
Have a good one, Mike
Not sure about "created", but to find the version in which it was "last saved"...Originally Posted by jlizann
Open the file in Notepad (or some other ASCII or HEX editor) and read the first 6 bytes
AC1021 = 2007
AC1018 = 2004, 2005, 2006
AC1015 = 2002, 2000i, 2000
AC1014 = 14
AC1012 = 13
AC1009 = 12, 11
AC1006 = 10
AC1004 = 9
AC1002 = 2
If you want to do this from within AutoCAD using lisp, see http://groups.google.com/group/autod...25e7729?hl=en&

Here is a nice little program that will tell you the current version while looking in explorer.
DWGIcon: http://www.cushat.co.uk/di/
That's pretty slick. Have you installed it?Originally Posted by madcadder
I just tried it and it slows down browsing a bit when in a directory full of drawings, but not as much as I thought it might.
I think it might be a keeper...

I've been using it for about as long as 1.6 has been around. Love it! Never an issue. No explorer crashes, etc.Originally Posted by rkmcswain
Start poking in an older folder and it's amazing to see all the different CAD versions that will pop up as you browse.
