Default Dimension (ordinate) objects that do not lie on either the X or Y axis

Is it possible to dimension objects that do not lie on either the x or y axes so that the dimension format looks like single axis ordinate dimensions?

    If so, how?

Question Re: Dimension (ordinate) objects that do not lie on either the X or Y axis

    Hi

If I am understanding correctly ( unlikely ), have you looked at first setting up a suitable UCS then Dimensioning ?

It might help to post a picture ( or DWG file ), that shows exactly what it is you are after achieving ( they say a picture is worth a thousand words ).

    Have a good one, Mike

I have attached a drawing. I wish to have the 1318, 1457.5, 3402, 3542 etc dimensions in similar format to the 2053, 2343 etc. I have used ordinate single axis dimensioning for these last two dimensions as they lie on the x axis but can't use it for the others.

Is there another way of dimensioning those objects that don't lie on the x axis?

First off, I don't have 2007 so I can't open it yet, but I'm thinking that you could set the ucs to match the plane of the objects you wish to dimension and place them that way. I've done that in the past and it seemed to work. Just a thought.

Do you mean like the dimensions I've put on Layer 0 in this file?

I've did nothing but place dimensions because I don't know where you want your y-origin to be.
