    Taylor,

Thats a pretty cool design. I agree about personal preference as far as software goes....but i would rather not wait around for long render times....which is why i use VRay Seriously though...radiosity isn't really a good method to use for exterior scenes. Not sure if you used the newer adaptive subdivision capabilities in the newer versions of radiosity in MAX/VIZ....this would help bring the render times down....as well as the type of image samplers/filters you may be using for anti-aliasing.

What are your machine specs that you used for that image? Any chance you would let me render that thing in VRay?

Radioosity or not. The rendering times in Viz w/ scanline are a lot longer. Like I have said, I have never used Vray. I was just comaparing Viz on it's own. That's a lot of money to spend for Viz and Vray, when I can get good fast results out of Modo that costs $850. That was my main point. I will look for the file and hand it off to you guys. PM message with both your emails and I will send the file to you.

Nice house ! Is it going to be built as in the renderings ? My first thought was "only in California" then I see your location "CA". California has the most interesting architecture for me, I wish it would spread everywhere else.

I gave up on scanline, it is the slowest ever. Viz and Max also come with Mental Ray which is a powerful renderer. The nice thing about viz is the file link and hopefully it will be more compatible with revit in the future because it's Autodesk, but who knows. That could be 15 years from now (Viz 2022) (Revit 24)

I agree...buying MAX/Viz/Vray does cost alot. I would say that MAX costs too much for sure....but you can do quitre a bit with that combo. It really depends on what you use the software for....for me....i need MAX and all of its capabilities, as well as VRay....although like i said before mental ray is pretty cool now too!!!

Hey Taylor...do you use imagesynth too? It looks like an amazing tool. ZBrush has something similar...not for $99 though!!!

Here is the link to the file if anyone wants it. It is in FBX form because I lost the original Viz fail due to a hard drive crash. It should work with anything: DH FBX

It was crashing both MAX 8 and 9. I updated the fbx plugin and it goes through the import but nothing comes in.

Same problem here with Viz2007, it crashes when it gets to the mesh convert part. Downloaded an Autodesk FBX converter, but it also crashes when trying to convert to .3ds
