    Default error during initialize

I get the message: error seeking top point when LDT 2005 is initializing on my desktop with WXP but everything seems to be working fine on my laptop with W2K. any suggestions. I've tried reinstalling and repeiring but nothing helps. I'm not an IT-specialist but I think it's got something to do with Cogofiles or databaseconnection.

    TIA

As your listed error " error seeking top point " returns nothing
from a Knowledge Base search; please capture the exact error
message and add to your post. Absent that, it would suggest
that you should apply REGEDIT and remove ALL things AutoCAD,
    and AutoDesk, reboot and reinstall.

CmdLine after accepting the error message. (error seeking top point, unknown)
    Initializing...
Loading AecCivilCogo...; error: Exception occurred: 0xC0000005 (Access
    Violation)
; warning: unwind skipped on hard error

This looks like a clue, even though it specifies
Land R1 (what a buggy critter it was).

This suggests a purge and audit of the drawing you are attempting to open.
Or that you have memory management issues.

This would be true even for the default drawing that AutoCAD loads as well.

This suggests issues with your user rights and permissions:

This suggests some issues with the defaul SDSK.DFM file:
