    Default Can not select objects

We are using AutoCAD 2007 and have been having a problem off and on with both 2007 and with 2006. When we try and select objects either by window or crossing not all the objects get selected. The objects are on the same layer as other objects that get selected. It seems to be leaders and dim strings, but not always.

    Any ideas ?

Dims and leader, if selected by a window, will not be selected unless the points are selected; the use of a crossing window usually eliminates this problem..

It does not matter if you use cross or window it will not select them. It is not always leaders and dim strings, random objects and lines are not selected sometimes.

And you are sure they are on the same layer? Not a locked layer? Not part of a block that is on a locked layer?

Other items on the same layer are selected and we have checked to make sure the objects are not on locked layers or part of a block. We have even exploded everything to see if that worked, it doesn't.

Can you post an offending drawing so we can take a look?

Are you zooming during the selection?

    An audit/recover may help also.

If not, could you maybe post the dwg so we could have a look?

Try changing your camera settings in Dview. Some of our drawings were set to perspective view and that caused problems selecting entities.

    Command: DVIEW
Select objects or <use DVIEWBLOCK>: return

    Enter option
    [CAmera/TArget/Distance/POints/PAn/Zoom/TWist/CLip/Hide/Off/Undo]: po

    Specify target point <18.00, 13.06, 18.00>: 0,0,0
    Specify camera point <18.00, 13.06, 19.00>: 0,0,1
