Think about the main parts of what you are expected to do at a job. It involves all sorts of things. Expect random trick questions.

File management and use of standards and templates. Depending on the firm, I'm going to guess that they already have a large library of blocks and templates for you to use so I'd think creation may not be the big thing, but knowing how to start a drawing correctly is key. This tends to be one of the things that seperates the men from the boys (so to speak). One that can take a look at a large building and conceptually think of a plan on how to set up the files based on a company standard or can at least create a cartoon set with file names that sort correctly. If you can be productive in ADT, I don't think you should have much of a problem with plain CAD but what do I know. We just got done "fixing" what our supposed Cad Coordinator did when he set up the project. You would not believe how bad things were screwed up. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you Steve, David.
Its an entry-level position so maybe they'll go easy. Im not that proficient in ADT but do know how to get around. I'll concentrate on your suggestions, if any other helpful suggestions come to mind, that would be very sweet, thank you again.

Neil, At an entry level, I'd say as long as you have the basics down I'd say you're ok. Lines, arcs, circles and x-refs'. Layer management could also be key. Just some thoughts. Good Luck!![]()
