It would help a ton to be able to use a photograph as the 3D background (not a camera view, but the 3D view in which you can rotate and zoom the building to whatever perspective you want). This is the way 3D studio works, it would make it a million times easier to rotate and zoom the building to match the photo perpective without all the trial and error associated with the camera view backgrounds. Please Please Please.......(Of course we'd have to have the ability to render the 3D view once we have the building positioned correctly!!)

I think this works:
Try putting the image and the 3D view on a sheet on top of each other. Activate the view and move the camera to match the image's perspective.

Optional: Render the view with the same background planar image.
