Hello AutoCAD Users,
I'm fairly new to AutoCAD and would like to ask your opinion on something....
We have hundreds of drawings needing the same thing done to them.
They are currently set so the viewport property Shade Plot = As Displayed.
We want change them so the viewport property Shade Plot = Hidden.
All drawings are 3D. Drawings can have from 1 to 4 viewports and 99% of the drawings have only
1 layout tab containing the viewports. Also 99% of the viewports are on layer called VP.
This is what I'm doing now to make the change...
- Open DWG with AutoCAD 2004.
- The viewport layer is frozen so I can't see or select the viewport.
- I go to the layer pulldown and unfreeze viewport layer VP.
- I REGEN the drawing to see the viewport.
- I select the viewport and click on the PROPERTIES menubutton.
- I use the properties dialog box to change the status of SHADE PLOT to HIDDEN.
- I then go back to the layers pulldown and freeze viewport layer VP. The viewport disappears.
- I SAVE the drawing.
- I repeat this process on the next drawing
How would you handle this?
Is there a better, easier, simpler, more efficient way of doing this?
Is there a way to automate this task and run it on a list or folder of files?
I'm wondering what's possible in AutoCAD.
Thank you
Steve
