We've gone the other way. Instead of one-character shortcuts, I've been adding three characters. Since we're training more people now, I'm opting for easy-to-remember as opposed to quick:

    "TAG" menu:"Drafting-Tag-By Category"
    "SEC" menu:"View-New-Section"
    "RAM" menu:"File-Relinquish All Mine"

Also BB to toggle the Project Browser

I also see Aaron has NS for New sheet. I've been using that one & love it for when you have to add the Engineering sheets. Just create the first sheet & change the Sheet number. Then bang on your keyboard NSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNS.
BAM, a dozen sheets. You still need to change the name, but it sure beats
    View.. oops, pull-down closed....
    View... damn...
    View... New Sheet - finally!

The NS for New Sheet doesn't work so good if you have more than one titleblock family loaded, because a window comes up asking which one you want. We always have more than one because of our normal titleblock and then our cover sheet.

Here's one I made and found to be quite helpful.

    XX for Modify

The reasoning is that sometimes I'm just too lazy to keep moving my hand up and down the keyboard constantly hitting escape twice, when all my other commands are at my fingertips already. So, XX is like exit out of the command for me. It's quick and simple.

    Interesting thread...

We use "XX" for close hidden windows because the X in the upper right corner in all windows apps closes the window. Easy to remember anyway.

I thought of doing that as well, but ending up using CW for close windows and XX for modify. That way I don't have to use Escape (or accidentally hit the F1 key which brings up help) at all.

    Question Re: KeyboardShortcuts.txt -- what's your strategy?

I can't get F10 to work as a keyboard shortcut in Windows XP. Is that in conflict with some Windows shortcut?

Try not to use F Lock buttons to for short cuts. They are usually assigned for normal windows commands and as you said will give you a conflict.

Is there any way to make a shortcut for Paste Align - View/Level/Same Place, etc.?

I just installed Revit Architecture 2009 on my laptop (Vista Home Premium ).
I noticed the "KeyboardShortcuts.txt" was not in the "C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Program" folder. Has anyone else run into this?

I can not customize any shortcuts right now even if I copy a "KeyboardShortcuts.txt" into this folder.

I just checked and found the KeyboardShortcuts.txt file to be located in the typical location in 2009:
    C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Program\KeyboardShortcuts.txt

Revit 2009 (Installed from network deployment)
