Default Is there a way to "bind" images?

I have a CAD version of our titleblock that I send to our engineers, which has a JPEG image for our logo. Is there a way to "bind" the jpeg logo into the DWG file so I don't have to send 2 separate files, and so that they don't have to update the image reference after they save the files to their servers?

It's not so much binding it as it is setting it not to refresh or reload when the drawing file is open. I know that's how ours is set up, but I can't rightly remember how I did it. Give me a couple of minutes to remind myself and I'll let you know.

You can e-transmit from the "file" pulldown. It creates a zip file that you can send as one nice package.
Give people a job worth doing, the tools to do it, recognition of a job well done & get out of the way.

Try this....when you insert the image, remove the file path.....

yes, but if I send both the DWG and the JPEG to an engineer, doesn't he/she still have to go into their image manager and re-associate the file path to whatever location they saved it on their end?

Yes, just cut & paste the image into acad. Don't link or paste special. As an OLE it is imbedded in the file and not externally referenced.

I've never had that problem, and I'm sending drawings all over the place.

I know I'm a little behind on timing, but I think if the dwg and jpg are in the same folder, the dwg will find the jpg and no need to re-ref it.

Yes, you are correct sir. Just dump it in the same folder.
And to answer the OP's Question, the short answer is NO.

Lightbulb Re: Is there a way to "bind" images?

Just to clear up any possible confusion on the OP's question, user jdmc back in 2006 had the correct answer. Although there is no way to bind an image that is already included in a drawing, you can achieve the same end result by copying the image from within another program such as Paint and then pasting it into the drawing instead of using the imageattach command. Using the copy and paste technique, the drawing will not reference any external file in association with the image.
