Show actual linetype & color in Tool Palette icon

When I drag over various linetypes over to a palette that we're creating for our office, a generic Line icon shows up. Is there any way to change it so that I can see, for example, a green dashed line, or a red line?

That works...even if it does take some time to do. It'd be great if this was a built-in option letting me choose to display the generic "line" icon or a sample of what the linetype actually looks like.
