    Default Reverse Polylines with Pedit

Summary: The ability to reverse a polyline using PEDIT

Description: Include an option "R" in PEDIT to reverse a polyline, so that Linetypes can be turned around to display more sensibly.

How Used: We use many linetypes with letters in them, eg --G-- fro a Gas pipeline, we also have "asymetric" linetypes for examle showing embankments which need to be turned around at times

Yes. It's about time this was built in.

I don't use PLINES with complex linetypes, so I don't need this for the same reasons. But I use PLINES to create profiles in ADT, and I use PLINES to set up camera paths for walk throughs from time to time. In both of these instances it matters which is the start, and which is the end, so there are even more benefits to having this tool, which seems like it is really overdue anyway, just on general principle.

While they are at it, how about a visual indicator like in this image.

That would be nice though not essential as Edit Vertex always puts a cross at the start end.

I like the Carlson "reverse polyline" tool, because it provides the visual indicator, and the command stays active until you press return. This last part is necessary because you may reverse a polyline that didn't need reversing, and a simple click of it again, reverses it right back....

We at our office like this, in fact we already created a tool to do this hehe. We included a variable to use with this command. Our PLINEDIR command allows us to reverse the direction of a selected polyline or group of polylines. We have a PLINEDIRPROMPT variable that controls prompting when using this command.
0 - Zoom to each polyline, draws and arrow showing current direction and prompts the user to reverse the polyline.
1 - Revers all polylines, no prompts.
2 - If only one polyline is selected do not prompt. If multiple polylines selected work as value 0.

We use the coordinates of polylines for geographical locations, start and end points are of great importance to us.
