    Default Contour precision not "sticking"

We are trying to set the precision for contours to read 1025 instead of 1025.000 or 1025.00.

We thought we found where we are “supposed” to be able to change the value, but the value will not be accepted when I select from the list.

Sometimes if starting a new style it will default to two decimal places instead of 3 and am unable to change it.

Not sure why autodesk would default to a thousandth of a foot for “contour labels” which are normally at even foot increments anyway.

    Thanks,
    David

You should almost never need to start a new Contour Label style. Once you have a "Company Standard", with maybe a couple of variations (we have one with 0.8" text, one with 0.6" text for smaller exhibits, and one with contour precision set to 0.1'), you should never have to change them.

The initial change is made when creating your Contour Label Style. You need to go to the Layout tab for the style, and change the "Contents" property for the text.

Once you've created your styles, set the default by right-clicking on "Surface" on the "Settings" tab in Toolspace, and select "Edit Feature Settings". In the "Default Styles" section, set your defaults. Now save this as your new Drawing Template, so that all new drawings have the same settings.

They also defaulted lengths to thousandths of a foot and angles to hundredths of a second. Who uses those, either?
