    Default Specialty equipment visibility...

    Hello:

I'm creating a library of medical equipment families for our office. Much of this equipment is wall mounted, often placed at heights above the standard cut plane.

My process has been to create 3D geometry for use in 3D and elevation views, then use symbolic linework to represent the geometry for plan and ceiling views.

My problem is that the symbolic linework does not display in plan for objects inserted above the cut plane. How can I get this linework to display, regardless of the cut plane? I'd rather not use plan regions.

It's a really dumb work-around but until I figure out a better way, I drew invisible model lines on the Ref Level and locked them to that level. This means that even though the object is not within the view range, it "thinks" it is.

Did this for a bunch of accessory families this way. Not elegant but it works and it's quick. Attached image is a diaper changing station that I mounted at 8'-0" AFF for demo purposes.

    Hope this helps.

Add an invisible model line that extends down to the cut plane....
