Default AutoCAD 2006 startup error - Fail to create CommCntrClientSink object!

Probably a dumb question, but I can't get my head around it... I am using '06 pretty much straight out of the box. Recently, after loading a drawing from a client, the '06 startup routine changed from what it was before. Now, some sort of add-on application tries (and fails) to start every time I launch '06. After "CUSTOM" and "EXPRESS" Customization Groups load, the command line reports: "Error loading AcStandards services", and then a pop-up appears in the drawing area, proclaiming "Fail to create CommCntrClientSink object!". After OK'ing out of this dialog, the program seems to run as usual. I'm sure that some startup macro has had a line of code added SOMEWHERE, but I need to locate and purge it ASAP. Can somebody lead me in the right direction? Thanks!

Have you searched the Autodesk KB?
    http://support.autodesk.com/

This article may address your issue:

That article does seem to address the problem, although I haven't used any registry cleaners. Whatever happened did so when I loaded a drawing from a client (perhaps that drawing tried to load something HE uses, but I do not have). I would like to avoid a new install (that's the fix the article suggests), as I have managed to work in a little custom menuing, configs, and lisp routines, and I always forget what files to preseve to restore these in a new install. Maybe, I'll just have to do it anyway, but I was hoping that it was just a batch file somewhere that needed editing, as the "AcStandards services" load attempt at launch does not seem to happen on a purely virgin install.

I have 2006 and this is not a problem. I also have 2007 installed, and this did come up after the registry cleaning. However, Autodesk's fix (http://support.autodesk.com/getdoc.asp?id=TS1053198) did not work.
